Positron Emission Tomography Center
PET imaging is a very powerful tool for diagnosis of diseases in oncology, neurology, and cardiology. It has greatly enhanced the ability to diagnose many diseases in the earliest stages, helping physicians improve treatment for their patients and ultimately, extending and saving lives. The PET center at Tri-Service General Hospital was opened in May 2003. It aims to promote basic and clinical applications of PET imaging, which include routine service and research development. In order to achieve the goals of using PET imaging for clinical and research purpose, various equipments, including cyclotron and automated synthesis system for production of radiolabelled compounds, PET scanner, and instruments for basic research of radiochemistry are included. The
most advanced PET scanner -- PET/CT, which has the capability of
performing PET and CT imaging at the same time.
The
most complete radiochemistry facilities.
The
most comfortable and safe environment for imaging.
