創傷醫學科為三軍總醫院外科部中的一個新成立的專業外科，旨在利用本院既有精良裝備下，可以有效處理所有嚴重外傷之患者。在臨床實務上，因骨科部、神經外科部、與麻醉部、放射診斷部為外科部之平行單位，是故外傷小組之運作以跨部會聯合方式進行。此一任務特性亦符合軍陣醫學之需要，所以本科另一主要任務，即為訓練所有未來外科相關從業軍醫，都可以具備處理戰傷之基本技能。

TRAUMA TEAM IN TRI-SERVICE GENERAL HOSPITAL

TRAUMA TEAM in TSGH is responsible for major trauma events in ER patients. The original design for the trauma team consisted of one team leader who is a qualified surgeon by Taiwan Surgical Association and four senior doctors from CVS, GS, CS, CRS, and GU divisions. The trauma team members take over the  management of acute severely traumatized patients after primary survey by ER physicians. The neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons also work closely with us as consultant physicians and they can arrive within 15 minutes. The anesthesia and radiology departments offer full support for the team. CT scanner is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  We had trauma OR, the COR-23, for acute polytraumatized patients and reserved SICU/NICU bed for them. The trauma team makes every effort to provide best care for every severely injured patients to our hospital.
